Arsenal are considering a summer swap deal that would see Alexis Sanchez move to Real Madrid with Karim Benzema heading to north London, according to Spanish outlet Don Balon.
The report claims that Arsenal have accepted that Sanchez will leave at the end of the season having so far failed to convince him to sign a contract extension with the club.
While Atletico Madrid have expressed an interest in signing the Chile international, Arsenal would rather sell him to Real Madrid with long-term target Benzema heading the other way.
Benzema’s future at Madrid has come under scrutiny this season due to a lack of form and also following the return of Alvaro Morata from Juventus.
The France international has managed just seven La Liga goals in 21 appearances this season while Morata has eight in 18, only nine of which have been starts.
However, Morata is reportedly frustrated with a lack of starts at the Bernabeu and could also be tempted away from the club this summer in search of regular football.

Arsenal have long been linked with a move for Benzema and Arsene Wenger was asked about the possibility of signing him in January only to insist he was well-stocked for attacking options currently.
That could well change this summer of course should Sanchez leave, and with Lucas Perez also reportedly unhappy with life on the bench.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, have also been linked with a whole host of strikers already including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Paulo Dybala amongst others.
Whether Arsenal retain an interest in Benzema remains to be seen, and may also depend on who is managing the club next season – it’s also worth mentioning that Don Balon is hardly the most reliable source in Spain.
Arsenal are also currently being heavily linked with a move for Alexandre Lacazette, who looks destined to finally leave Lyon this summer.
