Arsene Wenger is set to announce his Arsenal future after Sunday’s clash with Manchester City at the Emirates, according to the Daily Star.
The tabloid claims the result of the game with Pep Guardiola’s men will have a huge influence on whether Wenger opts to stay at the Gunners or step down after more than 20 years in charge.
The Premier League clash against City is huge for both sides with Arsenal in desperate need of a win having suffered four defeats in their last five Premier League games.
Their poor run of form has seen the club drop to sixth place in the Premier League, leaving their top four hopes in jeopardy and meaning a win on Sunday is vital.
The report states an Arsenal win is likely to persuade Wenger to extend his stay at the club, with the Frenchman believed to have been offered a new two-year deal.
However, defeat to City could finally tempt Wenger to depart the club when his contract expires at the end of the season, according to the tabloid.

Wenger stated recently he had already made his mind up about his future and is widely expected to stay at the club despite having come under huge pressure after a poor run of results.
Robert Pires and Lucas Perez have both this week revealed they expect Wenger to stay for at least another season despite recent fan protests calling for him to stand down.
Supporters are largely split over whether Wenger should stay or go but what should unite fans is that a decision needs to be made as soon as possible to relieve the current uncertainty and allow the club to begin planning for the future.
