Arsene Wenger has left England without revealing his plans for the future to staff or players, after the Frenchman returned to his motherland with Arsenal set for a short break with international football back on the calendar (via Daily Star).
The under-fire Gunners boss has seen his side slip down to sixth place after a fourth loss in five Premier League fixtures, and after revealing he knows his future after the 3-1 disappointment at West Bromwich Albion, it was expected he would reveal it to his playing staff and players very soon.
However it appears that has been put on ice with Wenger reportedly flying to France in the wake of fresh talk of a one year contract extension which has sparked more debate among fans.
Quite what Wenger’s excursion means is anybodies guess. Is he off purely for some much need R&R considering he’s under the most pressure since his arrival to England in 1996? Or is there something more at play? All will be revealed in the coming days no doubt.
But the issue remains – will he sign a new deal or will the Arsenal board be wise enough to see change is required to move this club forward after a number of seasons flirting with progression but continually falling short?
