Arsenal have been given a boost with the news that Alexandre Lacazette has not agreed a deal to move to Atletico Madrid this summer.
Reports earlier this week claimed Diego Simeone’s side were set to sign the Lyon striker, provided their current transfer embargo is lifted.
However, Lacazette’s agent insists such reports are false and that he has not met with the Liga side yet.
“There has been no meeting with Atletico Madrid,” David Beneditelli said via The Metro.
“But there is no doubt that they like Alexandre and other top clubs like the Colchoneros [Atletico Madrid].”
Lacazette has long been linked with a move to Arsenal and reports this week have claimed Arsene Wenger is already planning for next season and views the Lyon striker and Kylian Mbappe as the perfect replacements for Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, should they leave the club.

The Lyon star has endured a superb season with the Ligue 1 side, scoring 29 goals already and admitted earlier this year that he will leave the club at the end of the season.
His club have also admitted that they will not stand in the striker’s way should an acceptable offer come in and the 25-year-old is expected to be in-demand.
Arsenal have highlighted this season that new faces are needed although much will depend on whether Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Arsene Wenger remain at the club after this campaign.
