Alexis Sanchez says he wants to stay at Arsenal next season and hopes to finish his contract with the Gunners, which expires in summer 2018.
The Chile international has been heavily linked with a move away from the club this summer after failing to agree a contract extension.
Manager Arsene Wenger has admitted talks are now on hold until the end of the season with many expecting Sanchez to leave after having become visibly frustrated with the club’s lack of progress.
However, speaking in Chile, where he has been on international duty, Sanchez seemed to suggest he would still be at the club next season.
“I am happy in London and I hope to finish my contract at Arsenal,” Sanchez told via The Metro.
“I want to stay in a winning team and keep playing in the same city. I want to play in a team that has aspirations

“I’m 28 years old, I still have a lot ahead of me. I am a player who takes great care of himself.”
Arsenal are reportedly set to demand £50m for Sanchez if they do opt to sell him with the club facing the prospect of him walking away from for free next summer if he does not extend.
Bayern Munich and Chelsea have both been linked with a move for the forward, and Sanchez’s comments that he wants to remain in the same city will obviously fuel talk of a move to Stamford Bridge.
