Liverpool are willing to spend £35 million on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer and are ready to step up their interest, according to The Telegraph.
The England international’s contract expires next summer and he is yet to begin contract negotiations with the Gunners which has alerted other clubs.
Manager Arsene Wenger admitted recently losing Oxlade-Chamberlain would cause Arsenal “big damage” and that it was vital the club keep hold of the midfielder.
However, Liverpool look set to test their resolve and have not been put off by Arsenal’s price tag of £35m.
Jurgen Klopp is reportedly a big fan of Oxlade-Chamberlain, although he played down talk of a move for the midfielder earlier this season, and wants to add him to a strong English core at Anfield.
The 23-year-old, meanwhile, admitted earlier this season he would be prepared to consider his future if he failed to secure regular game time this season.

Despite Wenger’s earlier comments, Chamberlain has made just 12 Premier League starts this season and is far from a certain starter under the 67-year-old.
If Liverpool can offer Oxlade-Chamberlain regular football, it would be little surprise to see him leave which would be a blow as he has emerged as a versatile option for Wenger, as well as being popular among supporters.
This summer looks like being a huge one for Arsenal in the transfer market, with plenty of ins and out expected, and it is vital the club get the major decisions right if they are to progress and enjoy a better season next year.
