Napoli have thrown their names into the ring in pursuit of on-loan Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny. The Polish stopper has spent the last two seasons on loan at Serie A giants Roma but reports suggest that the Italian side are not keen on taking things any further (via Sport Witness).
He’s become something of a forgotten man for Arsenal fans. Wojciech Szczesny was once cited as a long-term goalkeeper for the club but a series of errors and inconsistent performances changed that.
In 2015 and after the arrival of Petr Cech, Szczesny moved on loan to Serie A side AS Roma where he has spent the last two seasons.
Szczesny has performed well for the Italian side at times but reports in Italy now claim that Roma are not willing to pursue a permanent deal for the Arsenal man, instead focussing on their other goalkeeper, Alisson.
Italian publication Il Messaggero makes the claim about the Polish star and reports that Szczesny has another option in Serie A.
The paper reports that Napoli are interested in bringing in the Arsenal man who doesn’t seem close to Petr Cech’s number one jersey at the Emirates.

It makes sense for Wojciech Szczesny to continue playing in Serie A. The Pole has impressed at AS Roma but his time at the Italian giants does appear to be coming to an end. It’s a shame that things haven’t worked for Szczesny at Arsenal because the 27-year-old clearly has the ability to be a very good goalkeeper.
