Alexis Sanchez has given Arsenal a boost by training ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Sunderland at the Emirates.
The Chilean was forced off during Saturday’s 4-1 win over Stoke City and Arsene Wenger admitted the injury “didn’t look good”.
The Arsenal boss also revealed Sanchez would have a fitness test ahead of the game but was remaining hopeful he would be fit to face Sunderland.

It now looks though Arsenal’s topscorer will indeed feature on Tuesday night and the Gunners will surely want him available as they bid to win their final two games of the season.
If they do beat Sunderland and Everton, Arsenal will still need a favour from either Liverpool or Manchester City to snatch a place in the top four which could have huge ramifications for the club’s future.

Although Wenger has denied that a lack of Champions League football will affect the club’s transfer plans, it will surely make them a less attractive proposition to potential new arrivals.
Alexandre Lacazette, for instance, has already insisted he will only leave Lyon for a club in the Champions League next season, and he has long been a top target of the Gunners.
Failure to secure Champions League football could also prove to be a deciding factor in the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil who are both out of contract next summer and yet to agree contract extensions.
