Mesut Ozil has reportedly held talks over a summer move to Fenerbahce but the Turkish side could struggle to complete the deal as Arsenal will demand £42.2 million for his services, via The Metro
The Germany international has just over a year left on his current deal and is yet to agree an extension, although he has previously insisted he would only stay if Arsene Wenger does.
The report claims Ozil has already been in touch with Fenerbahce who are keen to bring him to the club but may struggle to complete the deal due to Financial Fair Play restrictions.
This is not the first time the World Cup winner has been linked with a move to Turkey and Fenerbahce in particular, with Ozil previously admitting he is a fan of the club.
However, still just 28 it would still represent a huge shock if he were to leave Arsenal for Dick Advocaat’s side.
Ozil has come in for huge criticism this season, particularly during Arsenal’s recent poor run with many supporters critical of a perceived lack of effort.

The former Real Madrid man has 11 goals and 9 assists for the season in all competitions – already his best season in front of goal, beating his previous best of eight last season.
However, just two of those goals have come this year, against Middlesbrough and West Ham, and the accusation he goes missing in big games arose yet again on Sunday after a fairly anonymous showing against Tottenham.
If Wenger does continue at the club he will surely want to keep Ozil at the club while the Germany international’s current form means a price tag of £42.2m is unlikely to attract any bidders.
