The big news at the back is that Laurent Koscielny does indeed miss the match with Sunderland. The Frenchman is replaced in the centre by Nacho Monreal who partners Rob Holding and Shkodran Mustafi with Petr Cech behind them.
Hector Bellerin continues at right wing-back with Kieran Gibbs coming in for Monreal on the opposite flank. Arsene Wenger elects to return to the midfield partnership of Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey with Francis Coquelin dropping to the bench.
Mesut Özil and Olivier Giroud keep their places after scoring against Stoke on the weekend and they are joined by Alexis Sanchez who returns from an injury scare in time to start.
