Arsenal are reportedly planning to make a world record £125 million bid for Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe, according to the Mirror.
According to the report, Wenger is hoping to use his influence to persude Mbappe to move to the Emirates, rather than Real Madrid.
The Gunners boss has apparently already informed Mbappe’s father, his son will be a first-choice at Arsenal and may have to get used to the bench at the Bernabeu.
If Arsenal do land Mbappe, the report claims they will then also try to land his team-mate Thomas Lemar in a £30m deal.
So where does that leave Alexandre Lacazette, I hear you ask? Well, if we are to believe the report, the Frenchman has decided to wants to join Atletico Madrid, not Arsenal.
He is reportedly keen to link up with Antoine Griezmann, although obviously the deal is complicated by the club’s current transfer ban.

However, apparently Atletico could look to loan him out to AC Milan for six months, and then bring him back to Spain when their embargo is lifted.
This development appears to contradict other speculation, which has claimed Arsenal are very close to a deal for Lacazette and a move could be announced as early as next week.
What to believe then? Who knows really, with contradictory rumours flying about, but what is certain is this is not the last we have heard about Arsenal’s interest in Lacazette or Mbappe.
