Arsenal have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Thomas Lemar with reports that the Monaco man is keen to work with Arsene Wenger (via The Metro).
It’s the first day of pre-season training today but the squad which turns up at London Colney could still go through many changes.
Reports indicate that Alexandre Lacazette is close to joining the Gunners and it seems that Arsene Wenger is keen on another Ligue 1 player, Thomas Lemar.
We’ve all heard of Arsenal’s interest in Kylian Mbappe but it seems that a move for his Monaco teammate, Thomas Lemar would be more likely.
Arsenal have been handed a boost in their pursuit of the wide man with reports that Lemar is eager to work with Arsene Wenger next season.
Many players in the past, including Mesut Özil and Aaron Ramsey, have cited Arsene Wenger as one of the main reasons they decided to join Arsenal in the past and we could now add another man to that list.

Lemar was one of the key players in Monaco’s incredible side last season, grabbing 14 goals in all competitions as well as many assists. Wenger is reportedly a huge fan of the 21-year-old who could also be at odds with his own parents over a possible transfer.
L’Equipe claims that Lemar’s father has advised his son to remain in France ahead of next year’s World Cup in Russia. A player will always listen to the advice of those closest to them but Arsene Wenger will be hoping that the pull of himself and the Premier League will be enough.
A transfer would obviously unsettle Thomas Lemar slightly but there would be few easier places for the Frenchman to move to than Arsenal. The club obviously has a tremendous history of signing French players under Arsene Wenger and Lemar could potentially be joined by fellow Les Bleus international, Alexandre Lacazette. Hopefully, both players will join the club over this transfer window.
