After going through the midfield, we now move on to business end of the squad as we continue look in depth at the strengths and weaknesses of Arsenal’s squad.
What We’ve Got
Goals were not a problem for Arsenal last season with Alexis Sanchez again finishing as top scorer after spending much of the campaign as a central striker.
Olivier Giroud also contributed 16 goals, despite a reduced role, while it was great to see Danny Welbeck return to action after a lengthy lay-off.
Lucas Perez looked a good buy, but was hardly given a chance and it will be a massive surprise if he is still at the club next season.
What We Need
A top-quality striker and the club are on the case with reported moves for Kylian Mbappe and Alexandre Lacazette. Mbappe would be the dream certainly, and a move is not out of the question, with the striker seemingly having a good relationship with Wenger.
However, it seems that Lacazette is a more realistic option, although Lyon seemed to have poured doubt on a potential move for the France international in recent days. There are also suggestions he could still move to Atletico Madrid, despite the club’s current transfer ban.
Will We Get It?
Hopefully. A deal for Lacazette looks close, although we thought that last summer as well. Mbappe is still to decide his future, but Arsenal are certainly still in the running.

Of course there’s also the Sanchez issue. Talk of a move to Manchester City has even involved a possible swap with Sergio Aguero, which sounds like a very nice deal indeed, if unlikely.
Elsewhere, there has been interest in Olivier Giroud, and while both club and player seemed to want him to stay, a top-quality arrival could push him towards the exit.
