The Premier League fixtures have been re-arranged for television broadcasting and Arsenal’s opening match against Leicester City has been moved to a Friday night (via BBC).
The Premier League kick-off is just five weeks away and with a couple of new signings organised, Arsenal can now look forward to the new campaign.
The fixtures list may have been released several weeks ago but many of the dates were subject to change to accommodate television schedules.
Now, the tv schedules have been released and Arsenal’s opening match against Leicester City will be the opening tie of the Premier League season on 11 August.
The match at the Emirates has been moved to a Friday night – just the second competitive Friday night match the Gunners have played in twelve years.
The Gunners triumphed 1-0 in this fixture last season courtesy of a Robert Huth own goal and will be looking for similar fortune.

Arsenal will want a better performance on the opening day of the season this time. The Gunners have won just one of their last six opening day fixtures which has undoubtedly damaged their title chances. Hopefully, Arsene Wenger’s new-look side will stamp its authority early on and make a big impression on 11 August.
