He’s become one of the most popular Arsenal players amongst fans so there would’ve been many who were upset if he had left this summer.
Olivier Giroud was heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal during the window with a number of Premier League rivals interested.
Everton were reportedly the closest club to signing the player and now, Giroud has revealed just how close he came to joining Ronald Koeman’s men.
“I had the opportunity to leave. I was very close to another English club, Everton,” Giroud revealed to Canal Football. “But I think I made the best choice.”
