Arsenal fans have proven to be hugely excited about the signing of Borussia Dortmund’s Sven Mislintat as the club’s new head of recruitment.
The German comes with a considerable track record considering the amount of incredible signings Dortmund have made in recent years but Mislintat himself is a little irritated about this.
“Going by the press in England and Germany, they expect me to sign a Dembele in each transfer window,” he told German publication, Kicker.
“I’m being put on an incredibly high pedestal.”

Mislintat also went into detail about the comments made last week by Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke who took responsibility for Mislintat’s departure.
“I’m not mad at anyone, on the contrary, I find it extremely brave what Watzke said at the membership and shareholder meeting. To take responsibility in a difficult phase for the club has my greatest respect.
“There were many things in that time that I would have preferred to do without, and the same goes for Thomas Tuchel too, probably. In the end it damaged us all,” he added.
“I only said that this time inspired me to do something different. There was not just one reason.”
Whatever the reason for his departure, Arsenal fans will be glad he made the decision to move to North London. He may not uncover an Ousmane Dembele every year but even one discovery of a player like that would make this staff transfer worthwhile.
