We have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin this summer, with a surprisingly low £15m fee being touted, according to the Daily Star.
As the Daily Star reports, we have long been linked with the Frenchman. He is seen as the missing piece of the puzzle at the Emirates, and is still a top target despite the emergence of Francis Coquelin this season.
Coquelin has been outstanding since returning from his loan spell with Charlton, but he can’t be expected to play every game of every season. Bringing his compatriot over from the South Coast side would be a fantastic piece of business, and if we can get him for £15 then it would be an absolute bargain.
The Saints have gotten into the habit of selling their top stars, and despite another good season could see another exodus this summer. Champions League football is the dream for most top footballers, and with Arsene Wenger looking like being able to offer a place among Europe’s elite once again next season, we would no doubt prove a very attractive prospect for Schneiderlin.
