Alexandre Lacazette was a reported target of ours this past summer, and with the Frenchman recently falling out with current club Lyon, we could reignite our interest in him this January, as reported by the Metro.
The pacy forward was in phenomenal form last season, scoring 30 goals in all competitions. He hasn’t looked close to replicating his form so far this campaign, but still has three goals to his name so far.
Our need for a striker is no secret, with this past summer seeing us linked with every forward and his dog. If Arsene Wenger is still interested in signing his compatriot, then we may be in with a fantastic chance this January.
The 24-year-0ld looks to be having problems in Ligue 1 at the moment, and has hit out at Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas for comments made public regarding contract negotiations.
“Yes his behaviour hurt and disappointed me,” Lacazette is quoted as saying by L’Equipe (via the Metro).
The report goes on to claim that we have been alerted to the situation and are monitoring it closely, with a view to making an offer this January.

Theo Walcott has been showing promise up front, with Olivier Giroud playing second fiddle to the Englishman. We are still badly in need of a world class forward though, with many fans furious more wasn’t done this past window.
Arsenal transfer news
There are question marks over whether Lacazette is the world class forward we need, or whether he just had one fantastic season. We may have to wait until January to see whether there’s any truth in this story though.
