Arsenal are preparing to make a fresh £54 million bid for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to reports.
Recent speculation has claimed Lyon want around £60m for the France international but Arsenal could be about to test the club’s resolve.
Lacazette is widely expected to leave the club this summer and Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has hinted he would welcome an offer from PSG.
Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool are also believed to be monitoring developments regarding Lacazette after a move to Atletico Madrid fell through.
Having previously insisted he would only move to a club with Champions League football, Lacazette has backtracked recently which suggests he could be open to moving to north London.
Although Kylian Mbappe is also an Arsenal target, Arsene Wenger is reportedly realistic about the club’s chances of landing the Monaco striker although he remains determined to try.

Lacazette, meanwhile, scored 28 goals in 28 Ligue 1 starts last season and certainly looks like he would be capable of adding extra firepower to the Gunners’ attack should he join.
With Alexis Sanchez’s future still uncertain, the capture of a top class striker would give supporters optimism ahead of the new campaign, which will be the first without Champions League football under Wenger.
It’s also possible that the arrival of Lacazette could also help assuage any fears Sanchez and Mesut Ozil have over the club’s ambition with both players still to sign contract extensions.
However, Arsenal will know they were close to landing Lacazette last summer before failing to agree a fee with Lyon and ultimately missing out on the striker.
