Big spending Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala is looking to add more Premier League stars to their line-up after making Samuel Eto’o the highest paid player in the world in deal in excess of £250,000 a week in wages.
It is yet another club that is funded by a sugar daddy waving about his wads of cash. The Russian billionaire Suleyman Kerimov is reported to be ready to add more big name starts to the team.
The club is already linked with the likes of Fabio Capello, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard, with high profile player Roberto Carlos admitting there are more targets that the Russian club is following.
The Brazilian told Canal Football Club on the situation:
Anelka is not the only player. Nene from PSG and Van Persie from Arsenal are players we are following.
Neymar? I talked to him. If Real, Barca or Man United cannot pay the transfer fee, we will pay it. Suleyman Kerimov can offer what he wants.
To be honest I wouldn’t think Robin would leave England for the Russian league, especially not having won a significant trophy from a high profile league since the Arsenal FA Cup win in the 2004/05 season. But hopefully he can get the silverware he deserves in the near future with Arsenal!
