The Brazilian started his career with Arsenal relatively well, rising up through the ranks and eventually racking up a large number of appearances in the 08/09 season.
However circumstances soon began to change with his appearances steadily dropping in the two subsequent seasons, leading Denilson to go back to his former club Sao Paulo as an Arsenal loanee in the pursuit of regular playing time.
It now seems their will be no Arsenal future whatsoever for Denilson with his agent, Alexandre Soares, quoted as saying by Sky Sport News:
I can confirm Denilson and Arsenal have agreed to terminate his contract at the end of this month.
Denilson is free to move to another club and a number of clubs are interested in him.
I do not want to name teams, but there is interest from Brazil as well as Russia, Italy, Germany and Turkey and I am talking to them.

No decision has been made and we will assess all offers that come our way.
If Denilson does stay in Brazil, Sao Paulo has the priority, but I do not rule out him moving to another Brazilian club as well.
I can only say that this is a step in the right direction for Arsenal. If the rumours about Arsene finally spending some cash this summer are true, Arsenal will need to be proactive in getting rid of the deadwood.
Personally speaking, I thought Denilson was never of the caliber required for Arsenal and was rightly dropped in favour of Jack Wilshere, who we all know is now an Arsenal star.
Denilson’s departure adds to a impending summer clear-out of sorts with it already known that Arsenal’s biggest leeches Andrey Arshavin and Sebastian Squillaci are finally out of contract this summer.
Many Gooners will hope that the likes of Bendtner, Chamakh, Djourou and Santos follow suit in what would be a true summer clear-out in order to free up funds for incoming players. Hopefully these incoming players are worthy of their wages however!
