The Pole definitely had an ‘adventure’ in Arsenal colours often looking out of his depth and at times even comical with many Arsenal fans dubbing him ‘Flappy-hand-ski’.
There is no doubt he has potential, but in his time at the Emirates he simply wasn’t able to command the goal area and often looked very nervy, particularly when faced with aerial threats from corners and set-pieces.
Fabianski is quoted as saying by SkySports:
I hope that my adventure with Arsenal has come to an end.
I intend to leave and play in a strong league.
I wanted to leave in the winter, too, but Arsene Wenger did not give a green light.
If rumours and reports are to be believed there is a good chance that three of Arsenal’s goalkeepers could be leaving the Emirates this summer. These players being Manuel Alumunia, Lukasz Fabianski and Vito Mannone.

Almunia is definitely leaving as he is out of contract and both Fabianksi and Mannone have voiced their desire for permanent moves away from the Emirates in the pursuit of more match-time. In saying this though, I doubt Wenger will let both Fabianski and Mannone leave even with impressive youngster Damian Martinez on the rise. There is a need for reliable number two to back-up Szczesny regardless of what the player wants.
What do you guys think of Fabianski? Do you think Arsene should try and keep him as Arsenal’s number two or should he let him leave to get some match-time? Feel free to leave a comment below!
