A fit and ready Chris Samba has been dropped from the upcoming Arsenal tie as bad relations between himself and Blackburn escalate after he was denied a transfer after handing in a request in the recent January transfer window.
Samba said if he was denied his request he did not know whether he would be able to give his full commitment to Blackburn and it seems manager Kean hasn’t been able to smooth things over.
Kean said on the situation:
I’m prepared to say he’s fit and he’s available but he’s not in the squad for the Arsenal game.
I’d rather speak about people who are available to play against Arsenal.
Chris has trained well today but he’s not going to be in this squad.
If anything this is great news for Arsenal as the big defender has troubled Arsenal in the past. The loss of his commanding presence will a big blow to Blackburn and should also prove helpful for the gunners when defending set-pieces and trying to score on our own set-pieces. We are desperate need of points and this should be a huge help to the Arsenal cause.
