Young midfielder Jon Toral has been sent out on loan once again, with the Spaniard securing a move to Championship side Birmingham City, as reported by Arsenal.com.
The 20-year-old has looked close to the fringes of the first team for quite some time, but has failed to truly impress in the few glimpses we’ve had of him – mostly in pre-season tours and the Capital One Cup. He has consequently been farmed out on loan, and will once again spend a season away from the Emirates.
Toral enjoyed a successful spell with Brentford last season, making 37 appearances and scoring six goals in the process – including an impressive hat-trick against a struggling Blackpool side.
He featured sparsely in our pre-season tour, but clearly didn’t do enough to convince Arsene Wenger he deserves to stay at the club.

Despite being young, you arguably would have expected Toral to have made more of an impact by now. It’s by no means too late for the former Barcelona starlet, but he needs to show Wenger that he has what it takes while on loan.
