According to Sambafoot.com, Turkish side Fenerbahce may make a move to buy back their former left-back André Santos from Arsenal this week.
The Brazilian moved to North London a year-and-a-half ago to provide depth to the left back position vacated by Gael Clichy with the then-inexperienced Kieran Gibbs lined up as first choice.
Life in London went well for Santos upon his arrival including an important goal against Chelsea, however he struggled to convince defensively and developed erratic behavior that have given Gooners kittens over the past year most notably against Manchester United when he was run ragged by Valencia this season, and by Brighton’s Will Buckley on the weekend that did little to help his cause.
According to the report, Fenerbahce may make a move over the next day or so which would be music to many Gooner’s ears as the Brazilian clearly has no future with Arsenal and is more trouble than he is worth. But Wenger would need to bring in someone to replace him if he is sold and quickly!
What are your thoughts? Think he is worth selling this month if something eventuates? Using Vermaelen on the left should be Arsenal’s backup plan if Gibbs is rested or injured, not Santos.
