It’s been reported that both Yann M’Vila and Marco Reus, two of Arsenal’s most talked about transfer targets, are now on Manchester City’s radar, which will result in an inevitable bidding war between the two Premier League sides.
While this can be a compliment to the players quality, City’s unnerving ability to turn a rumour into a permanent transfer is enough to cause concern for Arsenal fans that are dreaming of a big name transfer in January or next summer.
Marco Reus, 22, has been in fine form for Borussia Monchengladbach, netting seven times in 12 games for the Bundasliga side this season. Reus’ coach Lucien Favre revealed last week that Arsene Wenger had been in touch, but insisted that his German starlet was committed to staying at Borussia-Park for the near future to improve his game.
Manchester City technical director Mike Rigg has revealed that the Premier League leaders are keeping tabs on highly-rated Borussia Monchengladbach winger Marco Reus.
Rigg told Bild:
I know Marco, because I like him a lot. He is one of the most talented players you have in Germany and we have watched him very often.

It has become common knowledge that Arsene Wenger has been tracking the 21-year-old combative midfielder and failed with a £20million bid shortly before the transfer window closed, and many had expected the Gunners to make another approach come January or next summer.
I think he could seize his opportunity in the French team. He seems to be level-headed.
I like the image he is showing. But I am sure City is not the only club attracted by him.
With so many rumours floating around ahead of the January transfer window, Reus and M’Vila are considered the Gunners most likely candidates at this point IF Wenger chooses to dip into the transfer market. With City so stacked in the midfield it seems absolutely absurd that they would purchase another defensive midfielder in M’Vila when they already have Yaya Toure (used to play in this position), De Jong and Barry however stranger things have happened…
Reus should be the Gunners number one target as he can aid Robin Van Persie in the attacking department and replace Arshavin if he leaves, whereas Arsenal already have a fantastic defensive midfielder in Alex Song, and more than able replacements in Coquelin and Frimpong.
