According to The Mirror, Arsene Wenger is set to enter the running for Chelsea’s target Romelu Lukaku.
The Anderlecht striker (18) is valued at around £17.5m and it was thought his move to Chelsea was virtually a done deal. He is a well known talent around Europe scoring 31 league goals in just 71 first team appearances for Anderlecht.
It would be a smarter career move for Lukaku to head to the Emirates as at Chelsea first-team places are extremely limited as they are absolutely stacked upfront, unless Chelsea look to offload at least Sturridge, Anelka or Drogba.
Although Lukaku sounds like a typical Wenger signing (bar the price), it seems highly unlikely that we would acquire his services as Chelsea I’m sure will buy him as he’s been on there books for a long time as their ‘new Drogba’ and they have a knack for getting their transfer targets.
The mirror also mentioned that Bendtner is again wanted by Bundesliga clubs Borussia Dortmund and SV Hamburg, however they have both stated they either are not interested or cannot afford the ‘Great Dane’, so it seems that Bendnter is no closer to finding a club then he is to winning the Bal’on D’Or .
