Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has revealed the club is ‘90%’ certain that French international striker Olivier Giroud will be with Arsenal next season.
Giroud endured a successful season with Ligue 1 champions Montpellier last term scoring an impressive 21 goals with 9 assists in 36 matches, and has become one of this summers most talked about players.
As per usual many expected the highly rated forward to head to English cash rich sides Chelsea or Manchester City, but it seems the lure of France’s own Arsene Wenger is too much to pass up.
Wenger admitted his excitement over Giroud, who won his first cap in November, and feels he will be a wonderful addition to the squad.
The Frenchman told TF1:
Giroud didn’t play much [in Euro so far], but he’s going to be an Arsenal player 90 per cent next season.

I think he has exceptional potential and will integrate very well in our collective and our way of playing
He’s a real team player and knows how to combine with other players and I’m sure he will do well with us.
Wenger, who also went onto praise Arsenal newboy Lukas Podolski, is really making a conservative effort to bring in exciting, more experienced talent which has failed to happen in prior seasons.
When Giroud becomes a Gunner, Arsenal will have an attacking lineup to compete with the best if Van Persie remains. Many are expecting Giroud to be the Dutchman’s replacement, but if the two are in red and white next season Arsenal can have a real crack at the League next season!
