Arsène Wenger has dismissed rumours once again that he will look to buy fellow Frenchman Yoann Gourcuff in the winter transfer window, however has praised the playmakers talents.
The Gunners have been linked with the 25 year old for some time now, and the Lyon midfielder was subject to a bid from Arsenal in the summer, however at the time he was recovering from an ankle injury so the deal fell through.
The French international is finally approaching full fitness and Wenger believes that he will return to his best soon, but has reiterated that he will not be bought in January as the Gunners midfield is already chocker block but it seems he make a move in the future.
Wenger said after Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Wolves:
We have choices in midfield. We have Diaby and Wilshere coming back [from injury] so we have lots of people in there.
However I see a positive future for [Gourcuff]. I think he will come back to his best level. He has been out for four or five months and what happens to him now is normal. He’s played his first few games only on his desire and, after an injury, it’s normal to have a dip.
Between January and June will be the key moment for him but I think he will be back to his best.
Next summer is a more likely time frame that Wenger will make a move for Gourcuff once he has fully recovered, but is he the player that Wenger should be buying?

With Mario Gotze also on his radar, it will come down to one or the other as like Wenger said the midfield is pretty well stocked. Who would you prefer Gotze or Gourcuff?
