We brushed Everton aside in the Barclays Asia trophy final, racing into a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Theo Walcott, Santi Cazorla, and Mesut Özil. Everton got one back through Ross Barkley, but over all it was a dominant display from us.

Five things to watch out for in Arsenal’s pre-season clash with Everton
Here are our player ratings for Arsenal vs Everton:
GK) Petr Cech – 7.0
The Czech international was excellent on his debut, despite not having a huge amount to do. He pulled off one superb save in the first half, but arguably could have done better against the goal we conceded.

RB) Hector Bellerin – 7.0
The Spaniard looks a far better option at right-back than Mathieu Debuchy, and his attacking verve gives an excellent option going forward. His raw pace also allows him to make up for any mistakes he might make, and was deservedly involved in both our pre-season games.
Substitute: Mathieu Debuchy – 6.5
He might struggle to wrestle a starting spot back from Bellerin, but he will be an excellent option off the bench.
LB) Kieran Gibbs – 6.5
Gibbs was our second choice left-back last season, with Nacho Monreal impressing hugely. He was solid against Everton, but certainly didn’t stand out.
CB) Laurent Koscielny – 7.0
He might have expected Everton to put up more of a fight, but in the end the Frenchman was barely tested. He stamped out any attacks that threatened us, and is unquestionably our first choice ahead of the new season.
CB) Calum Chambers – 7.0
It was good to see the youngster given a chance, and he did excellently in a more central role. He doesn’t look to have a future at right-back, but he may well see game time at centre-back next season.
