Dan Crowley is highly rated at Arsenal, and has been dubbed the “next Jack Wilshere” in the past (via the Daily Star). He has been sent out on loan in order to gain regular first-team football this season, with Barnsley FC announcing their acquisition of the youngster on their official site.
The report suggests there were a number of suitors chasing Crowley’s signature, most of whom were in the Championship. Arsene Wenger accepted the offer from League One side Barnsley however, presumably to guarantee him more first-team action.
He will remain with the club until January 3rd 2016 (via Barnsley FC), and will hopefully return to the club a more experienced player.
He is one of the most promising young stars to come through the Arsenal academy in a while, and looks to have a bright future ahead of him. The 17-year-old still has a lot to learn, but he is certainly capable of breaking into the Arsenal team eventually. He played a small part in our pre-season tour of Asia this past summer, and will be looking to kick on in the new campaign
