Arsene Wenger has revealed that he was glad to have the opportunity to give Chuba Akpom a run out against Aston Villa, with the young forward making an impressive cameo appearance.
Already 3-0 and cruising, the boss decided to hand our young starlet 20 minutes of action and Akpom definitely didn’t disappoint.
Constantly hanging on the shoulder of the last defender, Akpom won the penalty for the fourth goal and was unlucky not to get himself on the score-sheet after he scuffed a finish towards the end of the game – Le Boss was certainly impressed.
“We could give another opportunity to Chuba Akpom and he has shown that he has quality when he comes on as well,” Wenger told Arsenal.com.
“[Chuba] looks dangerous and you can see that he will score goals.”
Out of contract this summer, I think all Gooners worldwide will be hoping that we can keep hold of Akpom for years to come and see his undoubted promise come to fruition.
