Arsene Wenger told reporters in Singapore that new signing Petr Cech is guaranteed a place in our first XI and has called on our current crop of goalkeepers to learn from the 33-year-old (via Arsenal.com).
Cech joined from Chelsea last month in a move which finally ended our long search for a competent goalkeeper, with the Czech international hopefully helping us sustain a title challenge this season.
David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny shared the goalkeeping responsibilities last season, but neither convinced that they have what it takes to command the role of first choice goalkeeper.

“I believe he has many guarantees,” Wenger admitted, as quoted on Arsenal.com.
“He will give us his talent, his experience, his knowledge of the top-level game.

“Also all the other keepers here are still young, so he can contribute as well by developing our goalkeepers because they are top quality.”
The ruthlessness displayed by Wenger in signing Cech was welcome, but we still have some work to do if we’re to possess a squad able to challenge on all fronts.
We have numbers in all areas of the pitch and the boss must continue to his ruthless streak if players of a higher calibre become available in key areas this summer.
