Arsene Wenger was universally known for finding unknown talent from around Europe and turning them into Premier League stars.
However, with clubs subsequently copying his methods and investing heavily into their scouting departments, Wenger has been forced to break his habits and sign players from these shores.
The list of signings doesn’t make for impressive reading and finding the top five has been a struggle, with the likes of Mikael Silvestre and Francis Jeffers turning out to be one of our worst ever signings.

The Manchester-born striker signed for us on deadline day of last summer, in what was a frantic few hours in the transfer window.
Despite not enjoying his best season in his debut campaign, Welbeck is still only 24-year-old and can improve greatly in the coming years.
His tactical awareness and ability to play in a number of positions will also aid us in the future. A clever signing by Arsene Wenger.
