Mikel Arteta has apparently been left ‘stunned’ after missing out on the Arsenal manager’s job to Unai Emery.
It’s been a crazy few hours at Arsenal. After seemingly being just a few days away from appointing Mikel Arteta as manager, the club has seemingly had a major u-turn.
Unai Emery is now set to become the next manager of Arsenal Football Club which has left a lot of people in a state of shock.
Mikel Arteta appears to be one of them and was reportedly left ‘stunned’ after missing out on the role.
“Arteta didn’t pull out of the process, that’s for sure,” David Ornstein told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“He was confident of getting the job and he was excited about it.

“I don’t know how close Arsenal were to going for him. I wonder if Arsenal were as serious about Arsenal as he thought.
“I was told that Arteta wouldn’t be keen unless he felt that Arsenal were right behind him and as time went on, he wouldn’t have been feeling that because Arsenal could’ve got the deal done very quickly if they wanted Arteta.”
It’s a story which has caught everyone by surprise, Mikel Arteta included. It seemed certain that the former club captain would get the job but now, Unai Emery is seemingly then man.
