Wales striker Craig Bellamy has hailed his compatriot Aaron Ramsey, claiming he ‘adores’ the Gunners midfield maestro.
Ramsey, who was recently crowned the Premier League’s Player of the Month for September has been in fantastic form for club and country with Bellamy becoming the latest to hail the impact of the midfielder.
The Welsh striker is set to retire from international football after tomorrow’s last qualifier and he will miss playing alongside the 22-year-old Ramsey who he claims is the future of the Wales national team.
The Arsenal midfielder missed a penalty in Wales’ 1-0 win over Macedonia which led Bellamy to press the issue that Ramsey should remain on spot-kick duties to gain further experience for the years ahead.
The 34-year-old told The Mirror:
[on Ramsey taking the penalties] There’s no sentiment in football.

Aaron is going to take penalties for his country for years to come, so he needs to take them now. It has probably done him good to miss as well because he has taken a few and scored.
He is the future of this country, and for this group to hopefully go and qualify, so he needs to put himself in as many situations as he can. It isn’t about anything else – I have never been selfish in my life.
[on Ramsey’s form] Aaron is still so young but the football he is playing at the moment is just remarkable.
He is an incredible player and hopefully we will enjoy that for many years. I am his biggest fan and I just adore him.
It has been a disappointing qualifying campaign for the Welsh who have just managed to get off the bottom of their group. However the future looks more exciting especially with Ramsey starting to fulfill the potential he oozed when he first signed for the Gunners.
To receive such glowing comments from a teammate such as Bellamy just further illustrates the effect Ramsey is having on people around him and bodes well for his future as he continues to perform consistently at a high level.
