Mohamed Elneny has heaped praise on his new midfield partner Francis Coquelin, and claims the best is yet to come from the pair of them, as reported by Arsenal.com.
The two men have brought real balance to our midfield, working together far more effectively than any other pairing we’ve seen this season since Santi Cazorla’s injury.
The Egyptian international has really hit the ground running since his arrival in January, and although he’s not performing the exact role many thought he would, he’s proving an excellent acquisition.
The fact that he claims the best is yet to come is hugely promising, and hopefully the pair will continue to grow and improve together.
“Francis is a great player and thank God, I am always able to adapt to any of my team-mates in midfield,” he said.
“We both understand each other and have many points in common when we play together. As he is a great player we complete each other in many aspects.

“It is a very good thing that we are able to understand each other quickly in no time so we can create a great outcome. The best is yet to come.”
With Cazorla injured, Arsene Wenger was really struggling to find a midfield partnership that works. With the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Mathieu Flamini, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in midfield we were totally imbalanced, and the whole team were affected. Most play – especially at Arsenal – goes through midfield at one point, and with the balance disrupted our flow was completely gone.

Wenger eased Elneny into the team initially, making sure he wasn’t thrown in at the deep end. It doesn’t seem like he needed it though, as he has adapted incredibly quickly to the Premier League, and looks like he’s been playing at Arsenal for ages.
