Fabregas finally completed one of the longest transfer sagas last summer to the Catalan giants after requesting the move. With no other clubs able to include themselves, the Spanish maestro left for a cut-price of £25 million.
The 24-year-old was said to be emotional upon leaving north London in August after several intense discussions with his then manager Arsene Wenger, and has confessed that if he is ever to leave his boyhood club Barcelona again then it will be back to Arsenal where he enjoyed eight successful years under Wenger.
Fabregas told Sky Sports News:
If I have to leave Barcelona, I will go back to Arsenal – I would like to. I am not embarrassed to say that the day I left I could only say ‘Thank you very much’, I couldn’t say more.
I’m not embarrassed to say that I nearly cried. Arsene Wenger, I have never met someone that loyal. He is one of the best, I really believe that.
The man is a true gentleman and gave his most for the club despite some injury ravaged seasons and like Henry, many Gunner fans would love to see Fabregas wear the red and white shirt once again. While it is nice to hear this gesture from our former talisman, it is highly unlikely that he would ever return to England unless Barcelona suffered some sort of financial crisis and was forced to sell the playmaker.

But this passion for Arsenal is something that we need from all our players, Van Persie has shown it but he needs to show it once more by resigning next summer, Vermaelen has shown he cares for the club immensely by signing a new contract a couple of months back and Wilshere has dedicated his career to the Gunners already. This builds a very strong foundation for the Gunners and will prevent Arsenal FC from becoming a ‘selling club’.
