Arsenal’s powerful midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong wants to play as much as possible this season, and he looks likely to get his chance to impress against Liverpool on Saturday.
With Alex Song starting his three-game suspension this weekend and, with Jack Wilshere also out with an ankle injury, the 19-year-old appears the natural replacement as Arsenal’s defensive midfielder and will be in allArsenal’s predicted team for the coming fixture against Liverpool
Frimpong was a substitute against Newcastle and Udinese, with Arsène Wenger looking to provide more defensive cover for the backline.
Frimpong told the official Arsenal website:
“I just want to be involved as much as possible,”
“It is going to be hard because there are so many players at Arsenal but hopefully I can play as many games as I can. It is difficult because I am at a very big club and I have got to be patient.”

“It’s a new season, a new start and an opportunity for us to show what we can do,” he said.
“Obviously there was a lot of disappointment last year but there is an opportunity to put that right. I have to say, everyone is confident that this is going to be a good season.”
It is very positive to see that Frimpong is showing such desire to stay and play at Arsenal, and is willing to be patient to do so. He will be a very useful player when Song needs resting, serving suspensions (its inevitable really) and (touch wood) he gets injured, and Wenger obviously believes in him as he has provided extra defensive cover in the first two decisive fixtures in the latter stages of the matches. Good luck this weekend Frimpong.
