Match Report – Player Ratings – Infographic – Video Highlights
Another impressive away victory for the Gunners as they clinched their first Premiership victory this season. It came earlier this season – on the last two occasions we had to wait until Week Three. Here are the player ratings for the 3-1 victory over Fulham:
Player Ratings:
Wojciech Szczesny | 8.0: Brilliant performance by the Pole. He made a crucial save to Taraabt’s and Duff’s shots in the first half while the score-line was 0:1. Saved another of Taraabt’s shots to prevent Fulham from an early claw-back at the start of the second half. Couldn’t do much about the Fulham goal.
Carl Jenkinson | 5.0: Was very poor in the first half and was too slow to react when Bent scored. Made a silly foul in the first half in a dangerous area.
Per Mertesacker | 7.5: Commanding presence from our skipper. Had one chance to score at Craven Cottage for the second time in just four months.

Bacary Sagna | 7.5: It seems he will do very well as a central defender. His partnership with Mertesacker is really solid.
Kieran Gibbs | 7.0: Had a chance to score for the second time in the space of four days but he sent his shot wide. Another very good performance.
Aaron Ramsey | 6.5: He wasn’t at his best as he made some fouls in the first half and made more than a few sloppy passes. Still, the level of his performances this season makes me gloat for believing in his potential.
Tomas Rosicky | 6.5: Mozart’s geniality couldn’t be heard as usual due to the fact he played deeper than usual.
Santi Cazorla | 8.5: Brilliant performance from the little Spaniard who was our main creator today. This was the real Cazorla, the one we adore. Pulled all the strings.
Theo Walcott | 7.5: He hasn’t opened his goal-account yet but it’s only matter of time. However, he should make better decisions as he tends to either take a shot or dwell on the ball before making a pass for his team-mate in a better position.
Lukas Podolski | 8.5: A man with a howitzer in his left-foot gave an excellent performance today. Both of his goals were proof of Arsene Wenger’s claim that Podolski is the best finisher at the club. If Podolski and Giroud could score 40 goals between them in Premiership, we wouldn’t need a new striker at all.
Olivier Giroud | 7.5: Scored an opening goal with a clever finish and linked up well with his team-mates. Good hold up play generally throughout the match.
Substitutions:
Nacho Monreal | 6.0: Did his job well when called upon for the final 20 minutes.
Jack Wilshere | 6.5: Had a chance to score and created a chance for Walcott. Let’s hope he has kept his ammunition for the Spuds.
Yaya Sanogo | 6.0: He was one Stockdale-interception away from scoring on his debut.
