Arsenal have been dealt a tricky opening Capital One Cup draw as they face fellow Premier League side West Bromwich Albion for their first match in the third round of the Capital One Cup.
The fixture will be played at the Hawthorns either on September 24th or 25th. The match will come days after Sunday’s home fixture against Stoke and before travelling to Wales on the 28th for their tough test against Swansea.
Whether Wenger will choose to play a side littered with young talent will be massively compromised with the news that they face a Premier League side first up, however he will be expected to use a mixture of youth and experience as he aims to end Arsenal’s trophy drought.
Elsewhere, Liverpool and United have been drawn together while Spurs will face a trip to Aston Villa.
