It has been reported by the Daily Mail that Gunners starlet Jack Wilshere is set to be sidelined for the entire season as his latest scan has revealed another stress fracture on his already injured ankle.
The 20-year-old will now be doubtful for England’s Euro 2012 tournament, especially if he fails to make a recovery for Arsenal’s season, and perhaps he will require surgery once again to fix this next injury.
Wilshere has missed the entire campaign after requiring surgery from his original stress fracture, and he was closing in on a return to full training but then he broke down in training last week. Wenger was quick to quell any rumours the other day that the England international will be out for the whole season, as it was revealed he wouldn’t require to be in a protective boot, but it may turn sour for the Englishman if the news is true that another fracture has developed.
Although the news is fresh and has not yet been publicized by either Wilshere or Arsenal’s official website, we can not be certain that this is the case. But if it is then our thoughts go out to the young midfielder who was so close to a long awaited return and frustration must be running high for the lad. Get well soon Jack, but don’t rush it, you have a long career ahead!
