We’ve got a must win game against Dinamo Zagreb this Tuesday evening, with our Champions League campaign hanging in the balance. Mesut Özil knows the importance of the clash, and has taken to Instagram once again to provide motivational support to Arsenal fans.
The German playmaker has been in phenomenal form this season, and has been a shining light at times when the rest of the team haven’t quite been at their best. We’ve had just one win in our last five games in all competitions, and we can’t afford to continue in that vein.
Özil looks in confident mood ahead of the game, which will hopefully rub off on the rest of the team.

Even if we get all three points from Zagreb this Tuesday night, we could still see our Champions League hopes dashed. We need Bayern Munich to do us a favour against Olympiacos, as if the Greek side get even a point against the German giants then second spot will be out of reach for us.

We’re reaping what we sowed in our first two games, with woeful performances against Zagreb and Olympiacos leaving us on zero points after two matches. Three points from two games against Bayern is not a bad result at all, but we’d given ourselves a mountain to climb heading into the matches with the Bundesliga champions.
Although it’s not a guarantee, we really should be expecting Bayern to beat Olympiacos. Aside from their loss to us at the Emirates they’ve been in fantastic form this season, and they will be determined to top the group.
There’s an argument to suggest we should just give up on our European dream this season, finish bottom of the group and focus on the Premier League. We don’t appear to have the squad depth to keep competing on multiple fronts, as is evidenced by our usual glut of injuries.
Arsenal transfer news
If Arsene Wenger still believes he can guide the team to the last 16 though, then he’s likely to do all he can to get the win over Dinamo Zagreb. Hopefully we don’t end up in the Europa League.
