Hector Bellerin has been phenomenal since breaking out last season, so Arsenal fans will therefore be thrilled to hear him commit his future to the club emphatically. The Spaniard has been regularly linked with a move back to Barcelona ever since he emerged, with the Catalan giants seemingly viewing him as a long term replacement for Dani Alves (via The Evening Standard).
The 21-year-old claims London is his home though, insisting that he can’t see himself playing for any club other than Arsenal.
“I say this every year, for me my home is in England,” the Spaniard told Mundo Deportivo.
“Many years I’ve lived in England, I have my family there, I’m living with my girlfriend.
“I am very happy there, so I don’t see myself anywhere else other than Arsenal.”

While anything can happen in football and we know loyalty can be fairly fluid, it does seem like Bellerin is genuinely happy at Arsenal. He’s first choice getting plenty of game time, while being widely regarded as one of the best right-backs in the Premier League. He’s at a club that does its best to nurture and promote youth, and he’s well and truly adored by the fans.
With Mathieu Debuchy seemingly finished at Arsenal, Bellerin is really our only option at right-back. Arsene Wenger badly needs to sign some cover this summer, but he needs to choose his targets carefully. We want decent competition to push Bellerin to be better, but we want to ensure he still gets plenty of game time and doesn’t have his growth stunted.
Arsenal transfer news
Hopefully the other young players at Arsenal feel the same sense of loyalty and are equally happy at the club, something Wenger has striven for for years.
