According to Spanish football media site MARCA, Carlos Vela is closing in on a deal to see him re-join his former club, after the Gunners reportedly contacted Real Sociedad.
The Mexican has a €4 million buy-back clause in his contract after sealing a permanent move away from the north London outfit in 2012, and caused a stir with his performances in La Liga that have caught the eye of former manager Arsene Wenger.
According to the report, the Mexican himself has yet to decide on his future with other clubs interested in his signature. However from Arsenal’s perspective it’s a “no-brainer”, state MARCA, after a player they sold has started to realize his immense potential and developed into a top class striker.
The Gunners need depth up front and for such a cheap price we need to act on the clause and secure him soon. He would be an interesting option especially as he’s thrived in Spain over the past two seasons, that said the football is different and he may struggle to adapt once again. If it doesn’t work out next season though we will be able to sell him for even more the following summer.
