It was always going to be a huge ask for Arsenal after that result last week as they headed to Atletico Madrid needing a goal.
Diego Simeone’s men haven’t conceded a home goal since January but the Gunners actually started the match as the better side.
There were some half-chances for the away side but Alexandre Lacazette, Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck failed to turn those openings into chances.
Arsenal looked good value heading into the break but Hector Bellerin switched off and Diego Costa burst forward to score just before the break.
