The Gunners have the chance to make it seven wins from eight Premier League when they come up against Manchester City this weekend, with the title contenders experiencing a poor run of form away from home in recent months. In saying this though, the Gunners will be disappointed their strong winning run came to an end last weekend against lowly QPR, especially a week before such a tough clash.
The match marks the first time in the Premier League both Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri will be returning to the Emirates following their departures from Arsenal last summer. Provided each of them play no doubt the crowd will give both of them a rowdy reception, particularly Nasri who was widely labelled a mercenary after his big-money switch.
Arsene has the rare luxury of having a fully fit squad ahead of the tie and is likely to leave the first-team relatively unchanged, even after the disappointing loss last week. If any changes were to be implemented one feels that Ramsey, who was selected to play on the wing last match-week, will be replaced by either Chamberlain or Gervinho who both seem to bring much more on the left-flank.
This clash marks a significant time for each team where Arsenal look to retain third spot and Manchester City try to keep in touch with Manchester United at the top of the table. Hopefully the Gunners can secure all three points and end Nasri’s title hopes!

on the team news for Sunday…
There is nobody out or in because Diaby is not ready, Coquelin is not ready, so the squad available will be the same as last week.
on the progress of Coquelin and Diaby
Hopefully they will both be back in training next week.
on Jack Wilshere…
Jack is progressing normally but slowly.
on whether it will be a high scoring match…
Both teams are in the same situation – a draw is not good enough.
Man City could be eight points behind United at the start of the game. We will be in a situation where we want to win the game so it promises to be a very offensive match. In recent seasons, Man City came to Arsenal playing for the draw and I feel that this time both teams will go for the win.
Man City have good potential and I believe personally that we are a different team now. We are more stable and it is a good opportunity to show it.
I say on our side it is a ‘want-win’ game more than a must-win game. We love victory and we want to win. On the table side of course you want these three points.
Man City are in a situation where they will have to win. They are in a position as well where one point is not good enough and that is why it will be a very exciting game. It is a game where everybody will give absolutely everything.
Arsenal – Robin van Persie – The Dutchman has been in fine form this season, most recently in the Premier League with a goal against Newcastle. While he hasn’t found the back of the net in the last couple of matches, no doubt he will have a significant influence on this match.
Manchester City – Vincent Kompany – The last time these two sides met, Kompany proved his credentials absolutely nullifying the threat of Van Persie with excellent defensive marking. It will be up to City’s captain to do the same this weekend.

Arsenal have been level at the break in 10 of their last 15 home games whilst Manchester City have also been drawing at half time in 10 of their last 12 away games.
Manchester City have been poor away from home for a few months now – only five of their last 36 Premier League goals came away from the Etihad Stadium.
