Striker Lucas Perez has officially completed his move to Arsenal and has now been announced on Arsenal’s Official Website. The former-Deportivo La Coruna striker has signed a permanent deal, for a fee believes to be in the region of £17.1 million after clearing his medical and necessary paperwork.
The 27-year-old scored 17 goals in the 37 appearances he made during 2015/16, contributing eight assists in what was a very strong campaign on a personal level.
The Spanish forward can play as a lone striker as well as in support to current Arsenal centre forwards Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud up front. He provides the versatility to play as a left winger who caps on opportunities to cut inside when scoring opportunities arise.
Arsene Wenger spoke highly of the new striker.
“He’s not only a goalscorer.” Wenger said. “He’s a guy who combines well with partners, who can give a final ball and makes good runs.
“He’s got a good eye for goal and had an outstanding season last year.”
