O’Leary believes that the players are responsible for the lackluster performances this season, and has called for a summer overhaul because the current group is just not good enough.
Wenger has put his faith in the likes of Ramsey, Walcott, Chamakh and Arshavin who bar the odd decent performance, have been terribly inconsistent. The former Leeds manager believes that it may be time for Wenger to put less faith in the players that aren’t performing and look elsewhere for some much needed strengthening.
The 53-year-old told Press Association Sport:
Arsenal need to change about half a dozen players. I think Arsene has been let down by a group of players he had a belief in.
That group have been failures in my eyes and now a change is needed.
Just look at the AC Milan game last week – they were well and truly beaten but what will disappoint Arsene Wenger is that this Milan side was not nearly as good as the other Milan sides he has played down the years.

Arsenal are now fighting it out with Chelsea for fourth place – and they only good thing for them is that Chelsea are struggling too.
A summer spending spree is long overdue, and although Walcott and Ramsey have been average they shouldn’t be sold. Certainly the likes of Djourou, Chamakh, Arshavin, Park and Almunia should be sold off, and also Vela and Bendtner who are out on loan, this will provide ample finances and space to improve the Gunners squad. Walcott and Ramsey still have a lot to learn and they will continue to develop with the club, but Wenger needs to dip in and buy top class players that will consistently perform at the highest level.
With the North London derby looming pressure will be on for a favourable result against our arch rivals Spurs, Arsenal need to use this match to revitalize their season to get back on track. Finishing outside the top four will be an absolute embarrassment and a disaster, lets not let that happen.
Common you Gunners!!!
