One side that will not be looking to hand Spurs any favours on the Premier Leagues final day is Newcastle, with manager Alan Pardrew calling for his fans to enjoy themselves against Arsenal regardless of the score.
Tottenham moved ahead of the Gunners into the all-important fourth spot with a grinding 2-1 win over Stoke on Sunday, however Arsenal’s penultimate match against Wigan on Tuesday affords Wenger’s side another opportunity to climb above their rivals.
It will go to the wire, but thankfully Newcastle have secured their survival in England’s top flight for next season after they beat QPR 2-1, meaning they can take their foot off the pedal against Arsenal on the final day.
The comments from Pardew will certainly draw criticism from AVB, in which he insists Newcastle fans should “enjoy themselves” on the last day of the season.
He told reporters:
We got an important result today. I don’t really care if Arsenal win 4-0 if I’m honest – I’m sure Spurs will – but I only care that our fans enjoy themselves.

I’m very pleased. It was a very important game for this football club. Particularly this year with the finance of the Premier League.
While it is good news the Magpies won’t be needing a result from the game and perhaps may rotate slightly, Arsenal cannot afford to get complacent. However first up they must finish off newly crowned FA Cup champions Wigan on Tuesday to move back ahead of the Spuds.
COYG!
